A cooperação na área da Defesa no quadro da Comunidade dos Países de Língua Portuguesa (CPLP) é atualmente umas das áreas mais dinâmicas e melhor organizadas no seio da Organização, assistindo-se, desde o seu início, a um crescimento consolidado assente no reforço de uma cooperação bilateral e que pretende contribuir para o reforço da operacionalidade das Forças Armadas dos Estados-membro e ampliar a cooperação no quadro multilateral nos contextos de inserção regional, constituindo-se como um produtor de segurança e tendo como objectivo para o futuro reforçar a relevância e a presença na segurança em África. Neste contexto, uma cooperação bi-multilateral para o futuro na CPLP implica um reforço da cooperação estratégica com os principais países e organizações presentes em África…nomeadamente com a China. Importa assim neste quadro descobrir quais são as principais oportunidades e os desafios que essa cooperação pode implicar para o futuro da segurança em África.

• Abstract -
  The cooperation in Defence within the framework of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP) is currently one of the most dynamic and best organized areas within the Organization, seeing, since its inception, consolidated growth based on the strengthening of bilateral cooperation and which aims to contribute to strengthening the operationality of the Armed Forces of the Member States and expanding cooperation in the multilateral framework in the context sums of regional integration, constituting a safety producer and with the aim of strengthening security relevance and presence in Africa in the future. In this context, bi-multilateral cooperation for the future in the CPLP implies a strengthening of strategic cooperation with the main countries and organization’s present in Africa... like China. It is therefore important in this context to find out what are the main opportunities and challenges that such cooperation may entail for the future of security in Africa.
